I know this is probably out of your purview BUT. I have a Henry .22 that I shoot either a CB short or a regular short. I'm targeting squirrels in my garden at 7-15 meters more or less. Most of my scopes are for more distance shooting (hunting) but I can't seem to find a decent scope for short distances. I'd appreciate your opinion on this. I really enjoy your videos, especially the one that I saw recently, with your son. Great videos.

Try to keep this short. A gun shop owner for 40 plus years asked a customer if his guns were clean, he said yes. The owner handed the customer a bottle of Sweet's 7.62 solvent saying many solvents won't remove copper or all of the powder. He stressed that a ridge of copper is left in the barrel at the point where the copper meets the mouth of the brass and all that solvents do is dry out at that ridge none of them remove it. Customer used Sweet's strictly as per directions and said it took 700 yes 700 strokes to get his already cleaned barrel clean. I purchased a bottle and am going to try it on my 30-378 weatherby mag.

the old ruger 77 was an excellent option but not a budget item at all. the savage 110 is an excellent platform and can be had with a cheap plastic stock for a budget minded shooters. wen i was looking for a bolt action i went to the lgs and was looking at the bolt guns wen i came across a Remington model 1917 that was converted into a hunting rig with an old weaver k4 mounted to it and the tag read 199$ so i bought it and as i was buying it the shop owner was looking at it pointed out that it was a custom rifle that would cost a fortune to have a gunsmith do the same work today. he was right! its still in 30-06 but has ben fitted with a med heavy 25 inch barrel with a custom ramped gold bead front sight and has ben fitted for a rear aperture sight if i want to remove the scope. it weighs 12 pounds so recoil is tame even wen shooting rather warm 220grn loads. and the 150grn are pleasant to shoot all day long! and it shoots tiny groups! i got super lucky because the attitude toward any millsurp not being original is therefor worthless has netted me my greatest gains! i scored a 1942 colt m1911a1 military match pistol for 300$ at the same shop for the same reason!

I reload. You start with a clean barrel. I hope. So, if you want a consistent accuracy, stay with a clean barrel. Make any sense?

I landed a kill shot on an elk at 430 yards (checked with 2 rangefinders by myself and my hunting partner next to me) while it was trotting. It took me almost 3 minutes watching it going back and forth, making sure I had the right shot. And I had just worked up my load and gotten my dope at those exact ranges in that exact weather and at that altitude a week before. I had a clear shot with no brush between us, and I was shooting prone off of a bipod on top of a rise down into a gently sloping valley with no appreciable wind in any direction. It was ideal. Even under those ideal conditions, that's a very long shot. I've shot with enough people to know that very few "I grew up with guns and hunting" shooters even have an inkling of their drop and couldn't hit the broad side of a barn at 200 yards.

But it depends on what gun is firing them, length of barrel etc. Not all about the circumstance of bullet.

Good choice. Bought my 1st 30-06 when I was a teenager. Worked all summer back in the late 70's to buy that Remington BDL 742 in 30-06. Shot it for a couple decades, then sold it to buy a Rem700 30-06. Wish I still had that Rem 700, sub-MOA all day with Winchester 30-06 150gr Power Points. I'm 60yrs old & harvested my share of deer & hogs with that rifle. Today, I hunt with all the new flavers of calibers that hit the market. I rarely shoot past 100yds in the woods, so wind & drop doesn't mean anything to me hunting in central Louisiana. I don't like hunting highlines, pipelines or long fields. I just set up on trails in the woods & I always see deer. Anyway, if I had only 1 caliber to hunt with, hands down, it would be a 30-06.

I have a ph2 in a 300 prc and it shoots .3 MOA right out of the box with factory ammo and pretty manageable with recoil. I wanted an element so I bought one in a 6.5 prc and I’m very glad I went with a short action instead of a magnum with it being so light weight. Seekins rifles and their customer service is next to none!

Ultimate reloaded screwed that project up with the mossberg. Built a crazy money tec driver while some of us can afford it its not the point i still buy cheaper guns for reasons i think its funny how he blew crazy money on that gun when ive proven with my bad mossberg it was the barrel measurements were off. He secondly screwed up by using a well performing 6 dasher witch is known for crazy accuracy and proven reliability. @Backfire tome to go back to the drawing board and give people the actual answers its funny how he didnt listen to his viewers and we are calling you tubers out for it and they think its funny time to give us smarter people that know abd want to see wat we know over you tubers already

When I was big enough to see over my dad's workbench, he started explaining what he was doing. I and my younger brother became very interested in hand loading. My dad would send me down to the local Army and Navy to get him a pound of Red Dot and a bag of 7 1/2 shot. I hopped on my bike, and off I went. He's gone now but, if he lived long enough to see the hoarding and the unavailability of components, he would shake his head in disbelief. He never dreamed that there would be shortages and price gouging like there is today. Trouble is, we let it happen.
